Good morning everyone! We have finally gotten our summer weather - shooting up from 55-65 to 80-85 in a week. It has been really wonky weather here (and a lot of other places). Anyhow, it's sunny, not raining and I'm not going to complain. My first summer not smoking was interesting. I was so busy eating 'complex carbohydrates' which are so like craves that I gained some 20 lbs! Once, my first time, before going out on a hot Saturday, I ate a big bowl of granola with fruits not realizing that it swells up after consumption. I felt like a beached whale! I've been dieting ever since. It's taken me about a year to lose 10 lbs. I can't seem to lose the other 10. No matter. I'll keep trying but I'm happy. Not smoking is so wonderful - that slimness I enjoyed before I quit came at the price of smoking - the sallow complexion - the fear - the social ostracization - the money spent on cigs - all of it. Now, calm, peaceful, healthy. Check in everyone and give me your stats!

Hi Flo, it's almost cold here. Rained over 2 inches today and never got above 65 deg. Actually after the heat and humidity it sure feels good to cool off for a day.
Still smoke free Jan. 20, 2000

Doing good! Everyone's getting healthier. The Girl just celebrated her 7th birthday...all of them with a smokeless father. I still get a kick out of running around looking for a lighter to light the b-day candles. Since Dot and Jimpops got the bookends of NC...how's the middle of NC? 10-27-99

Present and accounted for. Had a very busy week at work as we were short handed and worked the 4th too. I enjoyed the day nonetheless as I was with my family later in the day and watched the fireworks with them. Still smoke free and grateful.
