I just thought I would share my experience with you on my quit which is going on three years. I find I like myself more and more each day. Each day, a new wonder appears. I went for my eye exam in the summer and my optometrist said that my vision had actually improved and indeed when I look out my eyes do feel stronger. The dental hygienist also told me at my annual check up in the summer that I had great saliva and as a result will probably not have much plaque at my next check up. This comes from a good Ph level which results from eating the right amount of vegetables and fruits.
All this because I quit smoking, gained a few pounds and went on a new lifestyle of eating and exercising which I have been doing faithfully each day for the last three years.
I tell everyone about it to share with them the benefits of good eating and exercise and the other day, my brother and sister both told me that they also now work out each morning as I do. I am now setting a good example.
All this because I quit smoking. I was telling my boss the other day over lunch that each day I get more and more 'sucked out' - that is, I just feel so darned wholesome. I no longer need to put on a rebel act or anything else to justify my smoking.
For me, I just feel closer to God now that I don't smoke. Smoking always made me feel bad. It's great not being addicted to cigarettes. I highly recommend it to any out there who are contemplating quitting or going back to it.
