Happy 4th of July everyone! I imagine many of you have taken today off as well. I hope you're having a great long weekend! We here in the Vancouver, Canada are finally getting back our summer weather after some 4-5 weeks of autumn! It's 70 degrees today, going up to 80 and 85 by tomorrow and into the weekend. I don't know about you but many of us are secretly regretting it. We quite liked it in the cool 60s and low 70s. Oh well, bring out the sun screen and summer dresses! Whatever it is, it's all good when you don't smoke! Hey! We had a new member, Freeatlast, but we haven't heard from her since her first post. Let's keep our fingers crossed for her that she makes it through and comes back to post again still smoke-free. My cousin and his wife, who got inspired by me when I first quit four years ago, started smoking again. It's perverse, but it tells me that I should be proud of my quit and guard it as it is not something to take for granted. Check in everyone and give us your stats!

well it got past 90 today. Thank goodness for air. I hope I never smoke again but you never know. It's hard when my husband and daughter smoke . I have emphysema, which is why I quit, but I know people who have it and on oxygen and still smoke. I've been smoke free for 2 years and 5 months and this is the longest I have stayed quit.

Just back from visiting relatives in Wisconsin, waved hi to Don as we passed through Chicago. This heat wave and humidity is simply the pits for the whole east coast and some of the mid-west. I'm keeping my quit though!

Here I be!
Ann, I think I might have missed you waving as I just got back from a Boy Scout camping trip in upper Wisconsin. Ticks were plentiful but the mosquitos were no shows. And yet I go to my garden at home to pick raspberries and the winged hordes descend upon me. Good thing I'm not a smoker, it would've been a much harder smokeless week with all of the hiking, and human interaction/drama if I was going thru withdrawals. However, I did have a cold beer and a hot shower when I got back.
cigless since: 10.27.99
ps..give yourself a pat on the back Country, you've really been keeping the quit!

Aren't we all! We'd be a lot slower were we still smoking though! Give yourselves a big pat on the back for keeping the quit!
