I think many of us have moved on with our smokeless lives...a very good thing. But that leaves this place pretty quiet for any newly quit people to converse with.
(Maybe the roll call should be a monthly thread instead of a weekly.)
I'll continue to stop by and offer any advice to those who want it.
I have one friend who's already on week three. He's proud of that and I am of him. He's taken the patch off and thinks he's free, but I told him to keep a patch in his glove box or wallet just in case those craves show back up in force (which we know full well they will).
My new year resolution is weight loss after my latest blood numbers show loosing some pounds would be a health boost to meet a goal the doctor is trying to get me to reach.
When I saw the doc last week, the interviewing nurse asked if I smoked, a standard question on her form. It's always a good feeling to have to dig in my head and pull up that Quit Date. And then do a mental arithmetic to calculate just how many years it's been.
The year is off to a snowy beginning, but it's bright and I take that as a sign that this will be a bright year. I'm sure there will be ups and downs...but I'm hopeful that this will be a year I remember collectively as a good one.
I hope you smokeless folks Keep the Quit!

I think many have moved on too. It's very quiet here. I would keep wearing the patch longer too because 3 weeks isn't very long. I wore them for quite awhile. I know too well how easy it is to relapse. I am glad I quit and I don't have cravings anymore. Maybe monthly roll call would be better. I don't have the answer. Happy New Year

I check in from time to time but not as often as I did when I was first quit and really needed everyone's support. I'm sorry to see this board and all it's great people slowly going their own way. I hope that any new comer finds the support that we all got when we quit. Jan. 20, 2000 Yeah 14 years quit!

I am still around and still smoke free. My husband also quit smoking a year ago this past December too. It is one of the best things I have done in a long time. Karen

Welcome namoi12. Please do stick around join us. There used to be more members, but it has slowed down quite a lot. I stopped smoking in June 2008 do not miss them.
