i came awful close because a nicobeast by the name of charlie almost got me. as you all know, i just recently re-located the bat cave. where i located it was not as strong structurally as the old place. reports kept coming in of a 14 foot storm surge coming into tampa bay. this would have done in the bat cave and batman. i actually saw a complete cigarette that one of my employees had left behind with his lighter next to it. i was at my wits end with fear and unknown dangers that i had actually oicked it up, put it to my mouth and caught myself just before i lit it up. my thoughts were not that one cigarette but where i could buy a pack before i got home. all of a sudden i realized that i was not going to give up my over a year quit and no matter what, a cigaret was not going to make the hurricane go away. as it ended up, the storm changed directions and tampa was spared. now the very most important thing is to help our brother and sister americans down in ft myers and punta gorda, lake wales, etc. we will ALL GET THROUGH THIS ON TOGATHER.
im truly thankful that i did not smoke and so so proud of all our men an women in rescue, military and just genuinly great people in our country.

Whew, that was close!! Thank goodness you won. I feel so bad for all the people that lost their homes. That would really be tough.

I'm betting that this or something similar has happened to each and every one of us. I'm very proud of you for realizing what you were doing and that you stopped yourself. Blowing a year quit is not worth it in the long run.
My cousin once told me that if she ever took one puff she would be right back to three packs a day. She has been quit for over 30 years. That's all it takes is one little puff.
Keep The Quit!

Way to go Batman! No, smoking that cigarette would not have stopped Charley. Just as the many I smoked when I blew my 2 year quit, did not bring back my niece. I'm so glad that you had the presence of mind to think it thru before you lit up. That took a lot of courage in the face of a hurricane. You're my hero!
