It's Friday evening and I am doing ok besides the normal cravings. I thought the cravings would be less now that I am through HELL week however they are still pretty strong.
I won't smoke though so I know I will get through to tomorrow.
Have a great evening!

Ok..something Off topic:
Ever hear of the british Sci-fi called Blake's 7?
Spent some of my younger years watching British shows on PBS. So much that I had an accent for awhile!

Saturday afternoon now and things are pretty good. The beast hasn't awoken yet today and I hope he keeps on sleeping.
I did have some wierd dreams again last night however. I was in a Casino with my dad and he won $25,000 in quarters. He spilt his cup of $25,000 worth of quarters and as they fell to the floor. As this happened there must have been 1000 people, all smoking of course, scrambling to get their share of loose quarters. Then I started chasing on of the guys down and his friend stabbed me in the back with a scalpel. Then I awoke. Wierd huh? What do you think this means? And btw, my Dad is an ex-smoker too although he quit 10+ years ago and I have never been to a casino with him playing slot machines.
I will report tomorrow.
Have a great Saturday evening!

Just one huh?
Don't kid yourself.
One is never enough and one is too much. Just one bullet in the head.
Deny those thoughts Blake!
Those "just one" thoughts are common too and all a part of the process of quitting. Now is when your addiction is getting desperate. Now it will start to bargain with you...rationalizing the irrational.
This is a good time to show who's in charge. Remember, every time you deny the Beast, you weaken him. The roar you hear will eventually turn into a whisper, then the Beast can be casually brushed aside.
In other words....DON'T EVEN PUFF!
Set yourself a limit if you have to. Set some date far off into the future when you can allow yourself to smoke again....and then just live until that date. I told myself that when I hit 75 years old I can smoke cigs again. Whether I chose to smoke at 75 or not will be my choice.

It's ok to say you need just one JUST DON'T EVER DO IT!
say to yourself.....I would rather be a ex smoker with an occasional desire to smoke that a smoker with a constant desire to quit.
You see once you taste freedom you will want it again if you slip and hell week never gets any easier. I always said I did not want to go thru the first couple weeks ever again.
hang in there Blake You can do it!

it's 10:25pm cdt....do you know where your luggage is? (to paraphrase an old commercial) I used to quit every night, then I'd wake up and start the smoking madness all over again.
Baggage...some items just drag you down.
tonite as you drift to sleep, you wake up knowing you are that much further into your quit Blake. Hour by hour, day by day, week by week, crave by crave. It all adds up!

Somehow displaying one week 3 days and 15 minutes is hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I remember like yesterday that moment in time. I wanted to smoke so bad and wasn't convinced I could make it thru to one week 4 days. I believe that by the grace of God I made it thru. One hour at a time...
hang in there Blake Stay determined, focused and stubborn I will not smoke no matter what. it is not an option period!
