Congratulations on conquering Hell Week, J. That's really something to be proud of. A great big pat on the back is in order here, along with that dinner out that Slim mentioned. Let's go for 2 now.

Elaine, there is a lot more crap in cigs than in the lozenges. True that you are still getting nicotine in your system, but you're not getting all the other carcinogens that are in cigarettes. You are washing all that other stuff out by drinking water. So, drink up - cheers.

You're doing great Elaine, and yes, the furnace would still be dead whether you smoked or not. That's a great lesson to learn early on. Sleeplessness or sleepiness seems to come with the territory. The patch seems to have the sleeplessness and bad dreams thing associated with it. I don't know if that is true of the lozenges or not. Things will balance out with time. Come here and read and post when the going gets rough. I love your confident attitude. As you will read over and over on this bb, ATTITUDE IS everything. If you think you're going to be miserable, you will be. It's a wild ride, but it's very doable. KTQ!

Welcome Elaine. Congratulations on your decision to take your life back. No, your family will not understand at all. For the first few days, they will be so proud of you. Then, they'll wonder what you're whining about. After all, you quit, right? They will not understand that quitting is a process, not an event. BUT, we understand. We've "been there, done that". Post, read, rant, rave, whine (with or without cheese ;D), whatever you need to do. And it is true - "no one ever died from a craving". We're here for you, so don't ever feel alone.

LOL, porn star! It sounds like the patch really has you going. I usually don't remember dreams, but when I was on the patch, I'd wake up, take my shower, and then realize that it was only 2:00 a.m., then fall back in bed, wet hair and all. It's really strange what nicotine can do to us. You're on course though, and doing a great job.

Thanks for the repost Ann. Sometimes we forget to laugh at ourselves in those early days. But as Don said, humor is an important part of our quits.
