I used to blame smoking for my daily headaches, thinking it was irritated sinuses.
I used to use cigarettes as a coping mechanism for stress when smoking actually increases your blood pressure.
I used to smoke to kill hunger and lost weight and ate unhealthy items.
Then there's that daily hacking cough that you blame on smoking but secretly hope it isn't a sign of something else.
As for vacation this time of year...if you can't go south...the indoor waterpark\hotel combo can be really nice--especially in the off season. No crowds!

Matt,
You should be proud!
Ironic....you control the flight of pilotless birds and fight the invisible hands that try to control you.
Keep at it!!!

Well John.... That is the power of the beast we fight.
Slips happen.
What you do after a slip is very important. It is a crossroad. It is quite common to binge during a slip, after all, there's that "devil may care" feeling to it. But now you're rational again. Get back up. You know the right choice. A loss is only a defeat when you refuse to fight.
If you're able, please post here before you throw your pride a curveball. We may be that last hope that keeps you smokeless. You owe it to yourself that much. And remember to keep that patch of yours close by, just in case.
This Quit is a journey; you hop on and ride. You know, you can fly down to florida in a few hours or you can thumb your way south. Which trip do you think will be most entertaining? The destination is not so important as the experience in getting there.

Howdy Spiffy! You're only having a horrible day because your addiction is not happy about you taking back control of your life. As smokers, we usually smoked to keep ourselves from feeling the wrath of withdrawal...smoking at that point wasn't for pleasure. Marlboro Country is a death camp. Come join those who understand what you're going thru. We'll be here for you as well as you'll be here for us!

~Here~
Sick kids. Sleep not an option when it's a commodity controlled by others.
Buying a home and selling ours...contracts made on both now. But still busy with all of the details.
A cigarette would fix nothing! ...since: 10-27-99

How goes it today Karyn?
Smoking isn't an option and it isn't even on the dinner special menu.
