What makes you more nervous, depression or lung cancer?
Depression comes and goes in life. In fact, it's those constant "bubbly" people that make me want to strangle them. How can they be so positive all the time? I just told one such example of happiness to swear at me, just so I can make my reality more palatable.
Winter blues every year for me, but I know Spring will come. And that same formula works with quitting. Which is: have faith that things will get better over time and things will ~eventually. But they will. They Will!
The power of positive.
Depression and addiction are a hell unto themselves. At the very "rock-bottom" level, you must make a choice...save yourself or lose youself. Of course, it is more desireable to make that choice higher up in the pit.
....And Ann makes a very good point about seeing your doctor in regards to helping to save yourself. Reach out for help and be informed.

Depression and withdrawal are common.
The depression is related to the feeling of loss, like the loss of a loved one. For in reality, we are loosing a part of us the we held dear, close to the heart.
Honestly, I for one rather be depressed...than dead.
I had my severe bout with depression in the teen years. So I know full well that little voice that taunts with you, inside your head. The lesson I learned in my teens also applied in my fight of smoking related depression--- that is, the depression is only a prison sentence who's term must be served (persevered) out. Release WILL come. You have to hold out, not give up. Day will follow night.
Yeah, I got a lot of little voices in my head...my own personal chorus. But I really, really hated being a slave to smoking. THAT'S a battle that I CAN control. ....and Win!
Matt, Support is there only if the individual wants to be saved. Commit to Save Yourself. There are hands here that can help hold you up. The journey to be smokefree creates a better you.

Winter for the northern states, envy for the southern states. But hey, every place has it's extreme's...the good and the bad.
However, at the moment, Hawaii sounds really really good.
no smoka cigs since: 10-27-99

Ha! Now we're talking....we just had a 20ft tall heavy rig just plow our end. Some of the snow piles go taller than me. Sadly I just had to reshovel the end of my driveway from the knee deep ridge left from the plow.
I can really go for a mai-tai and a palm tree right about now.

Started shovelling at 5:30am today and ran the snowblower 2x more to keep on the drifts. The city was kind enough to send in a pickup truck that made a single swath about 15 feet from my driveway. The truck tried to clear more but couldn't. It looked like he turned tail and ran when he couldn't push the load.
