John, whenever I go down a step I wear the patch for the first few days at night to build up my levels a little as I adjust to the lower dose then after a week or so I stop wearing it at night and plop it on first thing in the morning. I'm on 7mg. I've been using the patch for 4 mths. I go down when i feel the time is right and I'm ready. i don't worry about the proposed timelines. I figure a little nicotine is nothing compared to all the nicotine plus the 200 other toxins not to mention the smoke, gasses, tar etc. in cigerattes. A friend of mine used the patch for a year and her doctor told her he has a patient that's been on it for years and he supports him as it's better than smoking. Not the ideal, agreed, but i figure i'm in the fight of my life and I'll do whatever it takes to win this battle. Take all the time you need. It's an individual process.

Hi Anne, Don't wanna scare ya but I'm at day 120 and still singing the blues...But you're right I gotta take control and transform. I need to replace my bad habits with new ones. I have realized I've got to start eating healthily and begin exercising to break free from this rut. Hope things go better for you soon....sandyf

Hi Slim, I posted in here yesterday "Feeling sorry for myself" But I received an e-mail with a new username and password. I can't seem to find my old post to read any replies or find a way to post a new message on the home page. It's probably just me as I'm not the most computer literate person around... Anyways, It's one month and three days for me and I'm happy to report I had a much better day than yesterday and a big thank-you to all who responded to my post. It really helped.
